"The Sun And Her Scorch' is an album that’s as dazzling as it is dark; repeat listens shattering its veneer of beauty and finally giving away its stark fragility. A welcome return."

- Clash - 8/10

"Filled with gentle hums and buzzing vibrations, Dizzy’s newest release finds itself in a sweet spot of being relaxing yet somehow exciting, all whilst tugging at your heartstrings and bringing up buried emotions." - Riot Mag - 8/10

"With their second full-length, Dizzy have built upon the magic-laden suburbia found on their debut album, this time crafted with gentler hands and a sharper knife."

- The Line of Best Fit  8.5/10 (Album of the Week)

"There is a sense of fresh nostalgia that rests over much of the record, one where memories of being a teenage dirtbag are still close enough to be touched.  Ghosts of the recent past spark through 'Roman Candles', while 'The Magician' manages to be both beautifully sad and light of touch.  Being.a member of their heartbreak club never felt so good."

- DORK Magazine (4 Stars)

“Heart-wrenchingly honest, but always hopeful, Munshaw's delicate dichotomy of innermost self-exploration is at the forefront of new single, 'The Magician’...Here's hoping Munshaw never stops believing in magic."

- Coup De Main (Must Know Artist 2020)

"You’ve heard Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower.” You’ve heard Vampire Weekend’s “Sunflower.” Are you ready for Dizzy’s “Sunflower”? Don’t sleep because this may be the best of the bunch." - Stereogum

Featured by NPR, MTV UK, Rolling Stone (Germany), Daily Star UK, KEXP, Stereogum, The Wild Honey Pie, Coup de Main, Northern Transmissions, Variance Magazine, Aesthetic Magazine, Exclaim!, etc.

Press Quotes Sheet

Canadian band Dizzy was first formed by frontperson Katie Munshaw and drummer Charlie Spencer after the pair met in high school. Deciding to take time off from school to pursue music, the pair was eventually joined by Spencer’s brothers Alex (guitarist) and Max (bassist). They made waves with their debut album Baby Teeth (2018), winning the JUNO Award for the 2019 Alternative Album of the Year. Building upon the success of their debut, Dizzy released their sophomore album The Sun and Her Scorch (2020). The album was once again nominated at the JUNOs for Alternative Album of the Year and charted on Billboard at #3 Alternative album (CDN) and #10 Alternative New Artist Albums (USA). In 2021, the band shared their EP Separate Places which included features from the likes of Luna Li, Kevin Garrett, and Flyte.  2023 will see them release their new record, recorded in Los Angeles and Toronto with pop producer David Pramik.

"Feel the rush of blood to your head — Dizzy are back with a biting new single called "Barking Dog,"

Beats Per a Minute

"The song’s haunting melody and Munshaw’s crystalline vocal sound a bit like the introspective work of Wolf Alice".

"Certified banger"

(on "Open Up Wide")

"As expected, we continue to eat up any sad indie adjacent tune. And with likenesses pulled from The Japanese House, Samia and early Alvvays; Dizzy is sure to fit right in on your playlists."

“their most pop-tinged track to date, and I'm in love with them all over again.”

Atwood - Track of the Day

“Eerie, sombre, and personal, “Barking Dog,” the latest release by Canadian group Dizzy, is a push forward when tired of beating yourself up.”

"Dizzy digs deep on new song ‘Birthmark’....Their work has taken on an explicitly emotional hue"

Under The Radar

"“Birthmark” offers more of the saccharine indie pop sunshine Dizzy is known for, replete with soaring melodies, shimmering guitar hooks, and an intoxicating groove."

Consequence of Sound

"Dizzy” places us in an era of perpetual twilight."
